Alexis Johnson
Licensed Resident in Counseling

Hi, I’m Alexis, and I’m glad you’re here.
As a Richmond native, I’ve always been drawn to helping others. My career began at Virginia Treatment Center for Children, where I supported children and adolescents receiving mental health treatment. That experience showed me the importance of creating a space where people feel safe, understood, and supported.
I later worked as a Behavioral Specialist at St. Joseph’s Villa Crisis Stabilization Unit, providing crisis intervention, leading psychoeducational groups, and supporting individuals and their families through difficult moments. Those experiences continue to shape the way I show up as a therapist; with compassion, curiosity, and respect for each person’s unique story.
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time outdoors, especially hiking and swimming. I also love traveling, reading fantasy novels and poetry, and going to concerts. These are some of the ways I stay grounded and connected to the things that bring me joy.
I believe therapy works best when you feel comfortable being yourself. My goal is to create a welcoming, nonjudgmental space where we can work together toward the changes that matter most to you.
Available for in-person and virtual appointments.
